In September 2007, we restarted the academic year 2007 - 2008 with refreshed energy.

Jelle Leenknegt and Joachim Naessens became active team members again, this time as project coordinators. Next to founder Bruno Vermeersch and professor Guy Foubert, they are the young drivers behind this project. Jelle and Joachim developed in 2005 our record vehicle Energy 4, Belgian champion with 1367 km per liter diesel (or 3861 miles per gallon)...

Moreover, this year, six enthusiastic final grade students Industrial Engineering Electromechanics, will develop a completely new car. For them, this project is the ideal spring-board from college to the industry.

The Energyteam presents itself

You can find the model of our new vehicle at the European Motor Show in Brussels Expo from 17 to 27 January 2008, in Hall 1 at booth "Powered by Nature".

After years of research and development, we can proudly present you the results!

Our brand new vehicle, the Energy 5, is the synthesis of the know how that  our team is gathering since 1995. Is is the result of aerodynamic studies, ergonomics, roll resistance, lightweight construction and engine efficiency.

With Energy 5, we will participate in Eco Marathons, international fuel efficiency races organised by Shell, starting from April 2008.
